If you setup your Watched List you can receive a Email Notification of any new post/topic this means you can keep up to date quicker.

To setup go to this link Edit Watched Forums or click on My Stuff >> Watched List >> Edit Watched Forums

I have mine set to "YES" and "Where a new post is created"
