Would love to be able to have that skill that would be awesome.... I swear my girl tries to talk to me sometimes... (Im sure she does).... She says things like "Is that my hacksnax in your pocket" and "DINNER NOW"

must be pretty rewarding for sure

LOL! Tonight I had to go and pick up a rather troublesome horse and was rather worried about it. So I tried to talk to her on the way there, then tried to speak to her chestnut friend as well asking for help. Funnily enough I kept getting another chestnut butting in, but was too anxious to pay attention.

Anyway...when I got there, troublesome horse was trouble! Kept buggering off, and then when I finally got her in the float, she threw a massive tantrum and lay down in the float. And then my lovely Chestnut mare Alasaan Luscious Bee stepped in and was amazing help!

She stood beside me calm and comforting (normally she would be squealing and kicking and haring off first!), reassured trouble horse AND me. And then I realised it was HER earlier saying she would help me.

What a good girl!

I love this ability, but I'm scared of it...really. I know I hear them, but I get scared and block it/ignore it.

How do I get past that hey!?!?! :-)

first of all establish WHAT you are scared of!

Can't deal with it if you don't recognise it smile

I communicate quite well animals, usually with lots of gesturing, swear words and such. blush Just kidding, it must be awesome to be able to have such a special gift.

it's not a gift, it's a relearned thing.

Anyone can do it, if you talk about it being a "gift" you put it out of your own reach wink

Some just learn it easier than others!

I say RE learned because once a upon a time in a land far far away, it would have been completely normal. I think it's only that we are such a verbal species that it became less and less necessary that we did it and lost the knack of how to do it.
