Hello! My name is Shae Holland and I am currently working in Auckland, New Zealand. I recently attended the horse races at Ellerslie racecourse and had a wonderful time!

I am missing my horses back home in Idaho, located in the US and have been wanting to gain more information regarding horse jockeys.

I have had much experience in all kinds of horse riding: Western and English showing, barrel racing, training, etc. I am interested in what it takes to become a jockey.


I know there are particular requirements, such as height and weight, etc. I am 5'1 and weigh 100lbs, which I assume falls into that category.

Who could I contact in the Auckland area to find out about getting involved in racing?
