Another ride at Kim's arena tomorrow might throw a "proper" jump at him, get him used to the different looks early I suppose... Any tips for starting a pony jumping? Any don'ts?

Join an ARC they dont usually care if your on a pony or a hack and then you will be able to Show hunt/jump/ anything

shame your not in auckland WRC does some perfect events for green ponies like yours... SJ starting at 40cms stuff like that.... great for them to have a bit of exposure

yeah I thought I should start a thread in the proper section in case people don't read about Smokey LOL.

That was yesterday, and he jumped full barrel height to clear the first x-bar LOL and after that just settled into it like it was nothing, just trotting them all, no getting excited or anything silly, he'd just trot, pop, trot and aim for my son who was outside of the arena eating an apple PMSL.

No pics tho, Kim didn't come out till we'd finished.

x-country time tomorrow! Kim has a track that goes thru the trees around a couple of sides of her property with jumps set up in there. Some big ass full size hunt jumps and some little cavaletti and tyre type jumps so Smokey will get a run thru there

our first run thru the laneway today Next time I'll put the 3rd tyre back in the tyres now he knows what they are LOL

he didn't like having to change angle for the last one hehehe
