Ok so my instructor went and got preggers (selfish!!!), has had the baby now but is still not up to teaching. I am really hanging out for some lessons on oscar but the question is with who...

My reproducing instructor does a lot of stuff using Andrew McLean's methods, which I really like, so am wanting someone along those lines. Also someone who will hop on if need be - oscar is doing a few things that in theory I know what to do to sort out but in practice just seem to fluff it up. And a bonus if they will do a bit of jumping stuff as well as flat work. Not too much to ask is it?!

A woman called Laura Deane, really like her as an instructor, good at explaining things twice (or more...) if thicko here doesn't get it the first time! Will look up Pip's details...

I bumped into my instructor last night as it happens and she said something about catching up soon over the holidays and doing some stuff with the horses. So maybe she will be ready soon... I would like lessons with Tracey too - but she only does jumping right? I think Oscar might have SH potential but we kind of need to sort out the canter lead things first, lol. Who were you thinking of Jody? Email me if you'd rather. I have tried a few local instructors who I really didn't click with, I figure that if I'm paying for it I need someone who I can work with!

It's not that I really really want someone who is full on McLean but I am a firm believer in ground work and I like the softness that they (McLeans) seem to get. One thing I really got from Laura was that it's all about pressure and release, sounds soooo simple huh?! Bit harder in practice some times...

Steve Brady exercises seem very similar to the Mclean method. If you want a Steve Brady enthusiast to help you there are several in our local area. You are welcome to have a look at my book to get an idea what I'm going on about?

Main thing to remember is its not the pressure that teaches, its the release of pressure.

Ill flick ya an email - Yes as far as I am aware she only does jumping (Tracey) but she is a bit of a dressage "Queen" as well on her other horse so she may do flat smile

Theres a chick out here who does alot of showing - she also follows Mclean method and is quite involved in the A and P circuit - I know she used to teach so Ill see if she does still doing it and let you know smile

Chanel campbell is next door to me - shes quite young but a really good instructor - she teaches at her place (Has nice arena) and is well priced too - Ive had a few lessons with her (She helped me with blue before Showmanship day) she does dressage and jump (Cross country as well as showjumping but not showhunter) I think she would give you a lesson at coatesville too. Dont know what method she follows as such though but does alot of work at getting the horse off your leg..

My friend uses Karley - and apparently shes good to (Ive done a couple of x country lessons with her that I loved)

anyway will round up a few numbers and will email lol smile
