I feed it in winter mainly - I actually find it does Jack to get rid of bugs to be honest - If anyone know of a non toxic flyspray can you let me know - ive tried so many - from making my own to ones off lines vets etc....

I think anyone who invents one will make a fortune!!!

I used granulated garlic for a couple of years and decided it did zilch to keep the bugs away. Am thinking of mainly the bad Tick problem we have here.

This year though I switched to fresh garlic after doing some reading about it and while they are still getting a few bugs they certainly are getting less.
We have a couple that aren't getting fed and they can have masses of ticks on them poor things.

I use a $2.00 shop garlic crusher to get the best of the juice out and then just chuck the in with the feed.

if you can find your local garlic factory they often sell big sacks of "horse garlic" the ones they can't sell in the shops and usually dirt cheap smile

Don't feed it myself so can't comment on the bug factor

I believe feeding sulphur (flowers of sulphur) helps deter the ticks etc. Only have to feed a teaspoon from memory but you would want to double check that first.
