Hi all, I have never been on a forum before so I'm totally new to even how to post anything. I hope I'm doing it right!!! Found you guys cos I'm interested in getting a foal from my Irish Hunter and was googling stuff!!! To introduce me... I live in Palmy Nth and have a 20 yr old Irish Hunter who is so lovely to me. She has helped me get back into riding and I have done a little jumping on her - till I fell off in May!! My daughter has a 20 yr old Connemara who is just wonderful as well, and who she takes to Pony Club. We have landed on our feet with steeds that suit us both, as we are not big competititors. I have just gone back to teaching parttime at a local school and I've realised how much I have forgotten and how much work it actually was ... so horses have been on the backburner a bit. Have leant my girl to a friend for company and exercise as my friend lost her horse a few weeks ago and she needed a friend of her own to spend time with. My Irish Hunter has already had three foals but wondered if there was an age that it becomes unsafe or too uncomfortable for a mare to have a foal. But I guess I'll start up another enquiry on that one. Cheers all and look forward to conversing. Cath

Hi Cath, I've heard of mares having foals till well in their 20's without a problem so you should still have some time up your sleeve smile
