Over the weekend I got the new FEI approved spurs, they are black and 'unbreakable' but they have a rolling plastic bit at the end. They are GREAT! I had stopped wearing spurs on Saffy as I tended to jab her over the fence, which wasn't really the "good job for jumping" message I wanted to give her, so I stopped using spurs.

However, after the liverpool crap on Saturday I got a pair for Sunday, and they did work great, I would never have got around as far as I did, but there was no 'flinching' from her over the fence (which she normally does if I have normal spurs on) so the rolling bit and the black plastic must make the difference.
