I have seen/heard of plenty of Andalusian x TB's in New Zealand, but was wondering if anyone else out there had an Andalusian x Hanoverian?

The Andy breed isn't quite so big in the South Island yet and I am yet to see another Hanalusian smile so would be keen to hear from anyone else that has one.

My 1st X mare's first foal was an Andy x WB by Oldenberg.

Actually she had all the bad things from both parents. The stubborn bloodymindedness of the WB coupled with the high intelligence of the Andy. Not a good mix at all IMHO.

That's why I sold her and have not bred one since from WBs. She did however have very nice movement, and went on to be a good mum like her own mother who is a fab mare to breed from.

My other WB by Polaris was of a similar nature, he was really hard work at times and could make you very frustrated. One of my instructors said he was the most difficult horse she'd ever worked with!

Interesting chatting about Andy's...I'd be keen for you guys to advise of Andy's here in NZ as a friend of mine really, really wants one but so far has been disappointed at the ones she's seen and is looking at going to Aussie.

Lets see if we can find her something in NZ! She is looking for preferably a grey Andy mare, with a minimum height of 16hh and registered. Preferably purebred, but willing to look at options.

Thanks! :-)

I have a lovely Andy X filly for sale at the moment. She is a 2nd X by Cancionero and will be at least 16hh - she is nearly that already and is only 2yo. She is very nearly black with a star, lovely friendly sweet personality and paces to die for. She is the half sister of the horse in my avatar, she looks a lot like him but of course is darker and much more feminine.

She is starting classical inhand work and has only had 3 small learning sessions on the lunge which she has picked up with no problems either. She is registered with APANZ and NSHA.

If your friend is looking at PREs then I hope she has a very BIG chequebook & a lot of money! I have a PRE foal due in Nov and so far the costs have been rather large in producing it!

Lovely horse in your avatar!

Oh dear, that's what I've got! Grant Cashmore said Saffy's too intelligent/clever for jumping! He reckons they are also quite spooky. We are having issues with liverpools and he thinks because she is so clever she will always get the better of me, but I'm just working on getting her and I on the same side! LOL
